terms of service
last updated: April 12, 2026
tl;dr
- be respectful. no harassment, spam, or illegal content.
- you own what you post. you grant us a license to display it to other users of the service.
- the service is provided as-is. no warranties; we can't be liable for lost data or business consequences.
- we can suspend or ban accounts that violate these terms.
- you can stop using the service anytime, export your data, and delete your account from settings.
accepting these terms
by creating an account or using meet vibe coders (the "service"), you agree to these terms. if you don't agree, don't use the service. if you're under 13 (or 16 in the EU), you can't use the service.
your account
you sign in with github, google, or apple. you're responsible for keeping your sign-in method secure. if someone else gets in, sign out of all devices (iOS settings) and rotate your identity provider credentials.
one account per person. don't impersonate other people, make fake profiles, or run bot accounts at scale.
what you can post
you can post projects ("ships") you've built, a bio about yourself, your location, and links. you retain ownership of everything you post. by posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display and distribute that content to other users of the service, and to process it through our automated moderation and matchmaking systems (see privacy policy).
this license ends when you delete the content or your account — except that copies may persist briefly in our backups and with third-party AI providers (up to 30 days).
what you can't post
- illegal content or anything that promotes illegal activity
- harassment, threats, hate speech, or targeted abuse
- sexually explicit content or nudity
- spam, scams, or deceptive commercial content
- malware, phishing links, or code designed to harm systems
- intellectual property you don't own or have permission to share
- personal information about others without consent ("doxxing")
- impersonation of another person or organization
we use automated moderation on all user-generated text and accept user reports. flagged content is rejected or removed. repeated violations may result in account suspension.
what we can't post (on your behalf)
we use claude (anthropic) to generate ship taglines, bio drafts, and collab suggestions. these are AI-generated and may occasionally produce inaccurate or awkward text. you can always edit any AI-drafted content before publishing, and we don't guarantee the accuracy of any AI output.
github integration
when you connect github, we read public repo metadata and a short readme snippet to generate taglines. we never clone your source code. we store your access token encrypted, and only use it to refresh the metadata when you publish or edit a ship. you can revoke our access anytime from github settings.
pricing
meet vibe coders is currently free to use during early access. we may introduce paid features in the future; if we do, we'll update these terms and give existing members notice before anything changes about what they can access.
chat and messaging
members can send direct messages to other members they've matched with. messages are plain-text, stored on our servers, and delivered via our backend (with push notifications on iOS). you can block any user to prevent bidirectional messaging.
don't use chat for unsolicited recruiting, spam, or anything that violates the content rules above.
termination
you can delete your account anytime from settings. deletion is permanent and removes your profile, ships, matches, messages, and matchmaking data. deleted content may briefly persist in encrypted backups for up to 30 days.
we can suspend or terminate your account for violations of these terms, at our discretion. we'll generally try to notify you and give a chance to appeal, but for severe violations (illegal content, coordinated abuse) we may act immediately.
as-is; no warranty
the service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or non-infringement. we don't guarantee uptime, data durability beyond our best efforts, or that any AI-generated content will be accurate or appropriate.
limitation of liability
to the maximum extent permitted by law, meet vibe coders and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service. our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
changes to these terms
we may update these terms. material changes will be reflected by a new "last updated" date and, for signed-in users, an in-app notification. continued use of the service after an update means you accept the new terms. if you don't agree, stop using the service and delete your account.
governing law
these terms are governed by the laws of the state of delaware, united states, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in delaware.
